Used John Deere 650

Looking at a used JD 650 4WD with about 1100 hours. Appears to be in good shape (from visual inspection), with usual small wear-and-tear items appropriate to age. Comes with 4WD, three-point hitch, JD 365 power-angle front blade. No power steering, ROPS, SCV in place.

I'd like to mount a 48" tiller and a Woods RM48 mower on this unit, and will use the 365 for snowplowing a 100' driveway. Sufficient power for this?

Any particular faults of the 650 I should look out for when testing the tractor, and when considering final price? Are parts, like wheel rims and tinwork, still available from Deere? I would like to have a set of R4's mounted on spare rims for dirt work, and put turf tires on for general mowing.

Dealer is asking $4500 for this unit at present. Fair price?

I sold my 650 4x4 about six months ago. It had
a dozer blade and 60in belly mower. I got $5,000
for it with 2500 hours. Tough and dependable machine,
no problems that I can recall.

I have a John Deere 855 976 hrs w/hydro, turf tires, 4wd, power steering, loader, backhoe & 72" belly mower (mid mount) for sale posted in the CTB want adds. The belly mower has the anti-scalp roller package. I live in Candia, NH if your interested. ....

Did you get your tractor? I have a woods rm 500 (60") mower on miune and it works GREAT.. I plow snow with a 6' back blade and the only problem I have is needinfg about 150# on the front end when plowing.

I have owned a 1983 650 for about 10 years with 1100 hrs. The only problem I've had was this year the bucket hydrolic control valve body gave out. The tractor is only limted buy its weight when it comes to working it. I,m looking to buy a wood chipper does anyone have any experince or suggestions. ....
